One day at a friend's house, he asked me... "Alex, have you ever thought on painting on these things?" ..as he brought out an old movie projector screen. From that moment I thought... capture a bit of the past... freeze a moment in time.. but on the medium they were known on.... The Silver Screen.

The only problem, I just didnt want to make a "photographic" image. I wanted the vieweer to connect the dots and get them involved in the process.

My concept is, "The Eyes are the Gateway to the SOUL". When you first look into someone's eyes, you know if you are in love, you know how a person is, you know their heart, their fears, basically everything that makes them the person that they are. For that reasosn I selected to leave out the eyes on the main left image on all my screens, but instead painted a second right image. From seeing both images, the viewer them becomes active in the piece, trying to connect the dots and decide who is beine represented in the image. Some are easier to recognize right from the start, due to their incredible popularity... while others it takes a time or two.

To add to the effect, all paintings are on the actual old projector screens... whether the screen is 18"X20" or 6'X6", all custom sizes are available.
